Haven't You Read It?

They've already successfully broken the Link and there's nothing they can't predict in your behavior as you manage your time trying to succeed as a "god", because you're living the "life" they themselves have created. They know the mess can't be undone, it's what defines the world they have offered. They want you believing you can fix it. Because the longer they can make you stay the closer they are to their ultimate objective that is to make you irreversibly like them, with too much hurt to be undone, being too late to change.
